Getting your visa and study permit
If you’ve been accepted to Rotman Commerce and plan to study in Canada for more than six months, you’ll need to apply for a study permit. Before you can apply for your permit, you may also need a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL), depending on your situation — U of T will help you determine if this is required. A study permit alone does not allow you to enter Canada, so you may also need a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), which will be issued automatically if your permit is approved.
Be sure to gather all required documents and apply for your study permit as early as possible to ensure you’re ready to begin your studies on time. Find estimated study permit approval times on the Government of Canada website.
